At Home Conversation Starter
We count it an absolute privilege that we get to partner with our student’s families in all that we are teaching each week. Part of that partnership is you getting to continue the conversation at home with short conversation starters!
GOSPEL GLIMPSE CONVERSATION STARTERS
WEEK 1 GOSPEL GLIMPSE
Setting: During a family meal or drive in the car.
Discuss: Share a (preferably lighthearted) story of a time in adolescence when you should have asked for a second opinion (wisdom), but didn’t think you needed to.
Why: One theme of this week’s message is seeking wisdom and guidance from Scripture.
WEEK 2 GOSPEL GLIMPSE
Setting: During a grocery shopping trip.
Discuss: Talk about the difference between choosing healthy, lasting options versus quick, less healthy choices, relating it to making choices in life that have lasting value.
Why: One theme of this week's message is choosing what's genuinely valuable in life, not just what feels good in the moment, especially in the context of relationships and personal integrity.
WEEK 3 GOSPEL GLIMPSE
Setting: While discussing upcoming school or social events.
Discuss: Talk about how to stay resilient and maintain personal values in various social situations.
Why: One theme of this week's message is maintaining resilience and personal integrity in social and relational contexts, staying true to oneself.
WEEK 4 GOSPEL GLIMPSE
Setting: While doing a family project or activity together.
Discuss: Ask whether they believe love drives commitment or if commitment drives love.
Why: One theme of this week's message is understanding the true nature of love and commitment.
